About the Opportunity The Software Engineer II joins a specialized security team focused on bot threat detection and request risk mitigation. This role contributes to building reliable, scalable solutions that identify and manage malicious bot and agent traffic, helping protect users and strengthen internet security. The position involves developing new capabilities, optimizing existing systems, analyzing web and mobile data, and collaborating with support teams to resolve complex technical issues. Responsibilities • Develop and enhance products that detect bots and assess request risk. • Design, implement, test, and deploy new features from concept through production. • Optimize existing functionality to improve reliability, performance, and scalability. • Collaborate with Level 3 support teams to investigate and resolve complex technical issues. • Analyze web and mobile traffic data to identify patterns and improve detection capabilities. • Contribute to architectural decisions and develop clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of professional software development experience. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline. • Experience developing web APIs using a compiled programming language such as Java or Go. • Solid understanding of HTTP and common data formats, including JSON and XML. • Experience or familiarity with integrating machine learning tools and large language models (LLMs). • Ability to design scalable software architectures and develop clean, well-structured code. • Experience writing effective unit and integration tests. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment. Pay Range and Compensation Package • For U.S.-based candidates, the base salary range is $95,000–$171,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, certifications, and location. • Additional compensation may include annual bonuses, equity awards, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
