Platform Software Engineer

What You’ll Do We’re looking for an experienced Software Developer to join our Platforms team, helping us build and evolve the software infrastructure that powers our products and operations. This is a hands-on development role with opportunities to work across the stack. You’ll be comfortable working with Python and TypeScript, building reliable backend services and APIs as well as contributing to web applications and internal tooling. Design, develop and maintain software across our Platforms ecosystemBuild and maintain APIs and backend services that provide real-time data to applicationsDevelop web applications and user interfaces using TypeScript and modern web technologiesBuild internal tools and systems that improve efficiency, reliability and operational workflowsWork across the full software development lifecycle, from understanding requirements through to development, testing, deployment and ongoing supportDesign and implement robust, scalable and maintainable softwareIntegrate with data sources, messaging systems and other internal and external servicesWork closely with developers, product teams and technical stakeholders to understand problems and develop effective solutionsContribute to technical decisions and help shape the architecture and direction of our Platforms technologyIdentify opportunities to improve existing systems, processes and ways of working What You’ll Bring 3+ years of professional software development experienceStrong experience programming in PythonStrong experience with TypeScript and modern web developmentFull-stack development experience, with an understanding of both backend and frontend systemsExperience designing and building RESTful APIsGood understanding of software architecture, design principles and writing maintainable codeProficient with Git and modern software development workflowsExperience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologiesExperience with software containers such as Docker or PodmanStrong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skillsA flexible, self-starting approach, with the initiative to pick up and develop projects independentlyExperience owning projects end-to-end: working with stakeholders to scope the development requirements; fast iteration; deploying to production; and working with users to manage feedback and fixesIntellectual curiosity and a desire to ask the right questions to get to the bottom of complex problemsThe ability to quickly understand unfamiliar systems and technologiesThe ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst remaining organised Nice to Haves Experience working in a sports technology, broadcast, data or visualisation environmentA love of sport!
