Job Title: DevOps Engineer Duration: ASAP-End of 2026 with possible extensions Location: Brussels, Belgium Languages: English Job Description - Roles and Responsibilities As a DevOps Engineer you will: Investigate and resolve complex application issues, developing permanent fixes, workarounds, or temporary patches to restore service quickly.Maintain and optimize application performance, data integrity, and security across production and pre-production environments using proper data sanitization and anonymization practices.Manage and execute seamless application releases and infrastructure changes using automated deployment tools to support strict change management and governance standards.Provision and adapt hybrid, cloud, and virtualized infrastructure components to continuously meet evolving operational and service needs.Automate repetitive tasks and system provisioning by writing scripts and leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and orchestration platforms.Containerize and orchestrate applications to standardize delivery pipelines, improve system scalability, and streamline rollback procedures.Implement observability solutions and real-time monitoring tools to track system health, ensure cybersecurity policy compliance, and enable rapid incident response.Design, test, and document high-availability disaster recovery plans, operational runbooks, and incident response playbooks to minimize RTO and RPO.Qualifications: What would make you a fit for the role: A relevant Bachelor's degree and minimum 5 years of experience.Good knowledge of the application and infrastructure stack being supported, including web servers, application logic, and scripting for automation (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python).Knowledge of Java (JEE), PHP, .Net or other technologies and/or frameworks required to perform the tasks.Knowledge of relational database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) for basic querying, performance monitoring, and supporting developers.Experience in component-based and service-oriented applications development or configuration.Understanding modelling languages or tools (e.g. UML).Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for deploying and managing applications.Experience with monitoring and observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Dynatrace) and experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo, GitLab CI) for operational deployments.Fluency with English language (C1+)
