Description

My client is a fast-growing legal-tech business using AI and intelligent automation to transform how law firms and legal teams work. As they continue to grow their engineering teams in New York, they’re looking for a variety of .NET Engineers at Mid-level and above, ranging from backend-focused developers through to full-stack engineers. They’re an AI-forward engineering organisation, so they’re particularly interested in developers who are already embracing AI in the way they code, solve problems and improve their own productivity. What you’ll be doing Build and scale applications using C#/.NET and modern cloud technologies.Work across either backend-heavy or full-stack development, depending on your experience and interests.Design and work with APIs, integrations, microservices and distributed systems.Work on products increasingly incorporating AI, LLMs, intelligent automation and document processing.Use AI-assisted development tools as a genuine part of your day-to-day engineering workflow.Debug complex problems by breaking them down and working through them systematically.Build tools and automation to make yourself and the wider engineering team more effective.Work closely with product and engineering teams in an environment where the answer or process isn't always clearly defined. What we’re looking for Mid-level+ .NET Engineers with strong commercial C#/.NET experience.Backgrounds ranging from backend engineering to full-stack development.Engineers who are genuinely AI-forward in their approach to software development — not just occasionally using ChatGPT, but actively experimenting with AI coding tools and finding ways to improve how they build software.Bonus points if you've gone deeper with things like custom AI workflows, agents, MCP servers or your own development tools/skills.Comfortable working with microservices, APIs and complex distributed systems.Able to thrive in ambiguity and make progress when requirements, processes or solutions aren't perfectly defined.Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.Someone collaborative, easy to work with and able to handle feedback and technical disagreement constructively.Pragmatic engineers who care about quality but don't need perfect processes around them to get things done. Why join them? Join an AI-forward business actively changing how its engineers build software, rather than simply adding AI features to existing products.Multiple engineering opportunities, allowing them to match people to teams based on their strengths and interests rather than forcing everyone into the same box.Opportunity to work across established platforms and newer AI-driven initiatives.Product-driven environment where engineers have input into technical and architectural decisions.Hybrid New York setup, working closely with the wider engineering team.Strong opportunity for progression as the business continues to grow and invest in technology. Next steps If you're a .NET Engineer at Mid-level or above looking for a new role in New York — whether you're more backend-focused or full-stack — and you're already embracing AI as part of how you develop software, apply or email chris@thedeveloperlink.io with a few sentences about your background and what you're looking for.
