DevOps Engineer

Job Description Hosting & Platform – Platform or Platform Delivery IT Engineer's role revolves around working in cross-functional and global product teams in delivering solutions for multiple compute platform namely Windows, Linux, Storage, Backup and Virtualization. You are expected to analyze, remediate, develop, design, operate, administer, or automate solutions/processes related to any of the compute platforms according to business needs. Key responsibilities may include: • Support Windows/Linux/Virtualization/Cloud/Backup/Storage systems development, design, implementation, documentation, deployment • Develop automation using modern configuration/automation/self-service tools i.e: Ansible, Puppet, monitoring tools • Recognize and give recommendation on how emerging technology can be implemented adhering to industry standard practices • Contribute to architecting complex Windows/Linux/Virtualization/Cloud/Backup/Storage systems Job Requirements General requirements: • Use Agile methodologies to manage requirements and resources, changes in requirements and team synergy • Establish and maintain relationships with Managed Service Provider (MSP) that supporting operational activities day to day • Provide rotational on-call support during after-office-hours and weekends. On-call support includes troubleshooting infrastructure and application integration issues from tickets, email, or phone calls with users or other support groups/vendors Knowledgeable and experience in the following technologies: • Scripting languages (Ansible, PowerShell, Puppet, Phyton, Ruby, PowerCLI) • Cloud platforms provisioning (AWS, Azure) • Scripting repository (GitHub) • Monitoring/Support Tools (DATADOG, SCOM, MOOG) • Knowledge on Virtualization (VMWare and Hyper-V) • Active Directory, Events management, Computer management (System tools, Services), Hypervisors (Wmware/Hyper-V),other Operations Support Tools • IT ticket system and processes – Change, Incident, Problem Management Automation skills and familiarity in automation tools: • Understands and applies API/Integration key concepts • Container application platform (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift) Primary Skillset (Minimum: 2 major skills) Azure Devops is a must have. Windows • Engineer, design, deliver, optimize, operate end-to-end lifecycle support of Windows Server Operating System implementations including Windows server provisioning, decommissioning, migration, security, support tools and hardware, improve server operations efficiency and reliability • Analyze and remediate Windows server security vulnerabilities Linux • Working experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux • Demonstrable experience in installing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining Linux distributions, network protocols, SAN and NFS storage Storage • Ability to design, implement, document, and maintain complex integrated Storage systems including Dell EMC/NetApp SAN/NAS product and Cloud Storage (Azure/AWS) • Advanced skills in storage arrays (SAN/NAS), NetApp ONTAP and Dell (OneFS, PowerMax ECS) storage cluster administration and familiarity with Storage management software such as NetApp System Manager, Cloud Manager, Dell Solutions Enabler, SMI-S, Unisphere and Powerpath Backup • Ability to design, implement, document, and maintain complex data protection systems including Commvault backup solution, HyperScaleX and Tape libraries • Advanced skills in Commvault Data protections and recovery, Cloud backup and tape libraries: Quantum Scalar (i40,i80,i500,i6000), Dell ML-6000 and LTO. Familiarity with Backup management software such as Commvault Command Center and Tape libraries management console Virtualization/Cloud • Knowledge and experience in VMWare – vSphere 6.5, vRealize Operation, vRealize Automation, vRealize Log Insight, vCloud Suite • Knowledge and experience in software-based network solution, such as VMWare NSX Interpersonal Skills • Fluent in English - communication skills, verbal and written • Demonstrated good presentation and interpersonal skills • Mature and able to work in a global virtual team environment - experience working with a distributed team and communicating between different teams • Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision • Multitasking skills - ability to manage assigned tasks while being flexible and reprioritization work/issues necessarily • Analytical skills • Good team player - capability to work in a team of engineers with different proficiency levels and various Platform expertise • Willingness to learn new technologies/skills Nice to have skills • Familiarity with modern cloud platform (Azure, AWS, etc.) • Familiarity with ServiceNow (SNOW) as developer or user • Interest in DevOps IT process improvement • Familiar or Experience with concept of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Pipelines On Call support details • Duration for each rotation: 7 days (including weekend) • Follow the sun (24x7) coverage with counterparts’ presence in other regions/time zones
