What You'll Build Work with a team of data scientists, data, MLOps, and AI engineers on ML models and AI Agents at all stages of development: Data exploration, model training, model fine-tuning and optimization, productive deployment, testing and monitoringCommunicate with stakeholders to understand business processes and model input dataSupport a high-visibility AI project along experienced data scientists and AI developersLearn about applying data-centric AI development practicesWork with a modern cloud stack (SAP BTP, Hyperscaler offerings) What You Bring Master Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences Must Have Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science or related fieldsProficiency in Python and at least one other programming/scripting language (e.g. Java, Scala)Experience in one or multiple machine learning frameworks (e.g. sklearn, pytorch, tensorflow, keras, MLLib) or agentic AI frameworks (e.g. LangGraph)Good understanding of statistical methods (descriptive analyses, regression modeling, etc.) and model quality assessment (custom metrics, creation of validation sets, etc.)Strong oral and written communication skills in EnglishGeneral interest in applied machine learning or agentic AI to solve business problemsExperience working with complex tabular data (preprocessing, solving data leakage problems, imbalanced data problems) Nice To Have Experience with explainability and interpretability of machine learning models (SHAP, glass-box models)Experience with Deep Learning architectures (e.g. transformers)Knowledgeable on large scale data analysis with sparkExperience with CI/CD frameworks (e.g. Jenkins, Concourse, Gitlab CI/CD) Experience with MLOps tools (e.g., mlflow) Working from the office is not required Where you belong SAP’s Enterprise AI Center of Excellence, our tech powerhouse and internal trailblazer.
