Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps.
Our partner is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer based in United States.
This is a high-impact opportunity to establish and lead a DevOps function from the ground up within a global, data-focused technology environment.
You will take ownership of reliability, cloud infrastructure, delivery automation, data operations, and security across production systems.
Working as a hands-on individual contributor, you will define standards, build scalable practices, and introduce structure where none currently exists.
The role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to influence engineering strategy while remaining deeply involved in technical execution.
You will partner closely with engineering, security, compliance, and external specialists to strengthen operational maturity.
If you enjoy building rather than maintaining existing playbooks, this role provides the scope and ownership to make a lasting impact.
Accountabilities
Own the reliability and health of production systems by defining reliability standards, implementing observability, and establishing effective incident response, escalation, and on-call practices.Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and release automation that enable engineering teams to deliver software safely, consistently, and efficiently.Manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and Google Cloud, contributing to architecture, capacity planning, networking, performance, and deliberate cloud-cost management.Take ownership of production data infrastructure, including database reliability, automated and validated backups, and safe schema and data migrations without downtime or data loss.Strengthen infrastructure security through identity and access management, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and ongoing collaboration with external penetration-testing providers.Serve as the technical point of contact for R&D-related SOC 2 requirements, implementing and maintaining infrastructure controls while partnering with broader compliance stakeholders.Establish DevOps standards, processes, documentation, and operational practices from the ground up, creating a scalable foundation for future growth.Participate directly in the on-call rotation, continuously improving incident response and operational processes as the engineering organization evolves.Work collaboratively with engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to identify operational risks, prioritize improvements, and make practical technical decisions in an evolving environment.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), platform engineering, or a closely related discipline, including experience building or substantially maturing a DevOps function.Senior-level expertise with AWS, including production infrastructure, networking, cloud operations, and cost management, combined with solid working knowledge of Google Cloud.Strong experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code, with a track record of establishing standards that engineering teams successfully adopt.Proven experience owning production reliability, observability, uptime, incident response, and operational readiness.Hands-on experience managing production databases and data layers, including backups, restores, migrations, and reliability improvements.Practical cloud security expertise covering IAM, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and related infrastructure security practices.Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and the ability to translate security and compliance requirements into practical engineering controls.Comfortable working across reliability, delivery, cloud infrastructure, data, and security rather than operating within a narrowly defined specialty.Strong ability to work independently in ambiguous, semi-structured environments where processes and standards still need to be created.Demonstrated ownership mindset, sound judgment, strong communication skills, and willingness to participate in on-call responsibilities.Experience in MarTech, analytics, data infrastructure, or environments involving large-scale data pipelines is a plus.
Benefits
Remote work within the United States.Health, vision, and dental insurance.Unlimited paid time off (PTO).Generous parental leave program.401(k) plan with company match.Tuition reimbursement.Opportunities to work on meaningful data, analytics, privacy, and technology initiatives.High-autonomy environment with significant influence over the development of the DevOps function.Inclusive workplace focused on ownership, trust, diversity, continuous growth, and professional development.Opportunity to contribute to community initiatives through a dedicated nonprofit foundation.
