DevOps Software Engineer Level 3

What You Will Do At Independent Software, as a DevOps Software Engineer Level 3, you will support the development, deployment, and administration of complex mission-critical systems. This highly customer-facing role combines software engineering, DevOps, Kubernetes, Linux, and infrastructure automation in support of satellite communications systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy solutions using C++ or Python, Kubernetes, GPU technologies, and modern DevOps practices while helping ensure systems meet operational and user requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop, deploy, and sustain mission-critical software and infrastructure solutionsDevelop software and automation using C++ and/or PythonDesign, deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Kubernetes environmentsSupport containerized applications, cluster networking, storage, monitoring, and securityAutomate system configuration and deployment using Ansible, Bash, Python, and Git-based workflowsConfigure, troubleshoot, and secure Linux environments, including RHEL and Rocky LinuxSupport CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and automated testingTroubleshoot networking, software, infrastructure, and deployment issuesCollaborate directly with customers and engineering teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutionsSupport GPU technologies and satellite/RF-related applications Required Skills And Qualifications Strong Software Engineering and/or DevOps experienceDevelopment experience with C++ and/or PythonAdvanced Linux administration and troubleshooting experienceExperience with Kubernetes and containerized applicationsExperience with DevOps, Git-based workflows, CI/CD, and automationExperience with Ansible and/or similar automation technologiesStrong troubleshooting and customer-facing communication skills Desired Skills Rancher and RKE2Kubernetes cluster design, lifecycle management, networking, storage, security, and high availabilityHelm and CNCF technologiesCKA certificationAnsible playbook and role developmentBash, Go, YAML, and JSONGPU technologiesNetworking, including switching, routing, and VLANsPXE boot and automated OS deploymentRF data processing, RF application development, and/or satellite communications experience Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus twenty (20) years of relevant Software Engineering experience; ORTwenty-four (24) years of relevant Software Engineering experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree Clearance Requirement: Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role Why Choose Independent Software: At Independent Software, our people are the mission.
