Located in the Hunter Mall Chambers opposite Queens Wharf, our Newcastle office boasts spectacular views of the Newcastle Harbour. Supported by Matt Brown, Operations Manager – East Coast, our local multidisciplinary teams are supporting our East Coast clients through a range of local projects, showcasing our expansion into the Hunter region. Our Newcastle team also integrates and supports the broader works in the West by collaborating with our Perth and Mandurah teams. The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Materials Engineer to join our team. As our client portfolio grows across the resources, energy and industrial sectors, this position will help support and expand our engineering and design capabilities. This a great opportunity for a talented and passionate engineer to be part of a supportive and collaborative team Our Ports & Marine team mixes structural engineers, coastal engineers, and material durability experts who are enthusiastic about working close to the water. They work together to provide a full suite of Marine Engineering services including port planning, marine site investigations, port design studies, dredging and reclamation, coastal protection, maritime structures design, dynamic mooring analysis, scour assessment and protection, and physical and numerical modelling. Key Responsibilities Assess the condition of structures constructed from concrete, steel, and other materials.Perform site inspections and prepare clear, comprehensive inspection reports.Prepare remedial specifications, providing expert advice on appropriate material selection. About You You hold tertiary qualifications in Materials, Structural, or Civil Engineering.You bring a solid technical grounding in materials, civil, or structural engineering.You have practical experience assessing, selecting, and inspecting materials across diverse structures and environments.
