About You To succeed in this role, you will be a technically strong engineering leader with a solid foundation in mechanical engineering and a passion for developing high-performing teams. This role requires an engineering leader who can provide technical oversight of fundamentally mechanical products and support the team in making informed engineering decisions. You will be expected to anticipate potential technical and production challenges, understand where issues may arise throughout the product lifecycle, and guide the team in developing solutions that support successful certification, manufacturing readiness, and product introduction. Your ability to mentor engineers and foster strong mechanical engineering discipline across the team will be critical to success You will bring: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.Strong grounding in fundamental mechanical engineering principles, with the confidence and capability to apply sound engineering judgement across product development, validation, certification, and production environments.Strong experience in Product Release - understanding the full cycle including safety risks. Demonstrated experience working with mechanically complex products, including a strong understanding of product certification, compliance, verification, and validation activities.The ability to identify potential mechanical risks and failure modes early in the development lifecycle, understanding why issues may occur and the potential impact on product performance, manufacturability, certification, and successful product introduction.A practical understanding of how engineering decisions influence production outcomes, quality, reliability, cost, and schedule.Proven experience leading technical problem-solving activities, conducting root cause investigations, and implementing robust engineering solutions.Strong leadership capability with the ability to guide, mentor, and develop engineers, providing both technical direction and professional development support.Confidence acting as a senior mechanical engineering authority, supporting engineering teams through complex technical challenges while ensuring design decisions are technically sound and commercially viable.
