Senior Full Stack Ruby React Engineer - Digital consultancy (Healthcare client) - £80k - Remote (with some London requirements) - Tech Lead Track Technology: Ruby, React, GraphQL About the opportunity This is an opportunity to join a digital consultancy as a Senior Software Engineer, with a clear route towards technical leadership. The business is looking for someone who can contribute strongly as an engineer while gradually taking on more responsibility for technical standards, code quality, delivery approach and team guidanc e.The role would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on but is also motivated by the wider engineering picture: improving how teams build software, reviewing code, helping shape solutions, supporting colleagues, and working closely with product and client stakeholders. What you’ll be doing Building and maintaining applications using Ruby, React and GraphQLWorking across multiple client projects and business problemsContributing to solution design, domain modelling and technical decision-makingReviewing pull requests and helping raise engineering standardsCollaborating with developers, QA, business analysts, product stakeholders and client teamsSupporting CI/CD, DevOps, GitHub administration and broader technical enablement where needed.Initially contributing to hands-on delivery, with increasing leadership responsibilities over the first 3–6 months What we’re looking for Strong commercial experience with Rubygood React experience (worked with it and built CRUD pages before)A senior engineering mindset, with a strong focus on quality, maintainability and pragmatic deliverySome technical leadership experience, or clear potential and appetite to move into a Tech Lead roleAbility to work well between technical, product and client-facing teams.Comfortable working across more than one project and adapting to different technical contexts. Nice to have Experience working on legacy systems or modernising complex existing platformsPrevious involvement in CI/CD, DevOps practices or technical administrationExperience mentoring developers or influencing engineering standards across a team Team environment You’ll work closely with a collaborative delivery team made up of developers, QA specialists and business analysts. The role sits in the middle of engineering delivery, product thinking and client problem-solving, so the successful person will need to be technically credible while also comfortable communicating clearly with non-engineering stakeholders. Working pattern The role is remote-first. There may be occasional office or workshop attendance for collaboration, but there is no fixed office requirement. Most client collaboration is remote.
