Description
Employment Type: Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP
Department: Information Technology
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, weekdays
Compensation: $50–$65 per hour
About the Position:
We are looking for experienced Full-Stack Software Engineers to join a fast-paced GenAI engineering initiative supporting the development and evaluation of next-generation AI systems.
In this role, you will develop production-quality software that interacts with advanced AI models and helps assess their capabilities in realistic application environments.
You will work across the application stack, contribute code early in the engagement, and collaborate closely with engineering leadership and other technical contributors.
The position is suited to engineers who are comfortable working with evolving requirements, learning unfamiliar systems quickly, and turning technical concepts into reliable, working software.
What You’ll Do
Develop and deliver full-stack applications, backend services, internal tools, and supporting systems using technologies such as Python, Java, Rust, C#, C++, and TypeScript.
Build software that interacts with and evaluates advanced AI model capabilities in practical end-to-end workflows.
Connect pre-production AI model APIs with applications, tools, evaluation systems, monitoring, and supporting infrastructure.
Investigate technical issues and model-related behaviors encountered during development and document findings for engineering and research stakeholders.
Work efficiently in environments where requirements may change rapidly and deliver functional prototypes and production-ready increments.
Contribute to application architecture, implementation, testing, and technical documentation.
Partner with engineering managers and fellow software engineers to maintain strong development practices, consistency, and code quality.
Become productive in existing codebases and systems with minimal onboarding time.
Required Qualifications
At least 3 years of professional experience developing and delivering production software within established, high-performing organizations.
Professional production experience with at least one of the following: Python, Java, Rust, C#, or C++.
Working knowledge of a second programming language and the ability to contribute across different technology ecosystems.
Practical full-stack development experience, including backend services, APIs, frontend frameworks such as React, databases, and cloud-based deployments.
Proven ability to understand an unfamiliar codebase and begin contributing effective code within a short period.
Evidence of professional growth and increasing technical responsibility throughout your career.
Availability to commit to a full-time schedule of approximately 40 hours per week during weekdays.
Strong written and verbal technical communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain engineering decisions, issues, and solutions.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is a hands-on software engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and working on emerging technologies.
You should be comfortable moving between frontend and backend systems, experimenting with new approaches, troubleshooting issues, and delivering results despite incomplete or changing specifications.
Experience working with AI-powered applications, model APIs, evaluation frameworks, or GenAI systems can be valuable, but the primary requirement is strong production software engineering experience across the modern application stack.
Compensation & Employment:
This is a full-time W-2 employment opportunity with Cincinnatus LLC.
Selected engineers may be placed with a leading AI laboratory as part of its extended engineering workforce.
Hourly Compensation: $50–$65 per hour
