Standard Job Description
The River Class Destroyer (RCD) Land-Based Test Facility (LBTF) program team is one of the Naval Programs teams that spans across Lockheed Martin Canada Inc.
(Lockheed Martin)'s main project sites (Kanata, Montreal, Dartmouth), opportunities are available at all sites for supporting RCD LTBF program activities.
The candidate will operate as an Integrated Product Team Lead and a member of the Systems Engineering multi-disciplined team environment working on the total engineering life cycle from specification, design, development, integration and test, deployment, maintenance and field trouble shooting for the RCD Combat Subsystems forming the “Tactical Payload” being installed in the LBTF, essentially providing the customer with a “Ship Combat System on Land”.
The multi-disciplined team environment includes working with several vendors, including Government Furnished Equipment OEMs, who are responsible for product design, development and delivery of their respective systems.
The candidate’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring the technical soundness of the system requirements and design as they relate to the Combat Systems part of the LBTF Payload
Ensuring the technical soundness of the LBTF Payload Combat System and its alignment with system requirements and design
Interaction with the Customer on any aspect related to the Payload Systems
Assessing technical, cost and schedule impacts of change requests that impact or potentially impact the Payload Systems
Responsible for the generation of associated deliverables
Collaborate with the Subcontracts CPT, and Payload System vendors to ensure the continuing coherency and integrity of plans related to the development, delivery, integration and verification at the LBTF
Coordinate with the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3), Cyber Security, Safety, Training and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and other CPTs to ensure the continuing coherency and integrity of plans related to each Specialty disciplines for the Payload Combat Systems
Collaborate with the other IPTs to ensure the coherency and integrity of plans that touch multiple IPTs
Identifying, assessing, prioritizing and resolving technical and non-technical issues associated with the Payload Combat Systems
Basic Qualifications
Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in systems, software, hardware, mechanical, electrical, electronics engineering or a related Discipline
Minimum Of 10 Years Of Relevant Professional Experience
Equivalent experience/combined education will be considered
Experience with Systems engineering and integration lifecycle
Experience with Naval Combat Subsystems (ex: CMS, Comms, IBNS, Sensors, Weapons, etc)
Aptitude for solving challenging problems in a team environment
Have a high degree of initiative and autonomy
Have a high learning ability
Ability to plan, adapt and perform in a dynamic schedule-driven environment.
Highly effective working in a virtual environment when required
Good organizational, communication and leadership skills.
