This role requires technical expertise in product design and manufacturing, balanced with leadership, project management, and communication skills. PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and develop engineering staff to grow their technical expertise to solve complex problems.Strong understanding engineering principles, product development processes (stage-gate), and manufacturing processesManage and develop product solutions from idea conception through product launch.Manage and develop cost optimization (Total Cost Productivity) solutionsSupport resolution of quality, customer, and manufacturing issues as they ariseProficient at problem-solving and decision making to address complex technical challengesEnsure product compliance and facilitate problem-solving by employing root cause analysisKnowledge of DOE and statistical toolsEstablish departmental KPIs and provide monthly performance reportingPlan, schedule, coordinate, and manage resources for development of product solutions consistent with established objectives, compliance requirements, timelines, and budgets. Collaborate and leverage internal and external teams, including quality, product compliance, procurement, product management, and manufacturing teams to ensure products are designed and evaluated to meet compliance targets.Articulate product requirements, progress, and challenges to team members and stakeholdersDevelop test methods, standards, and protocols supporting the implementation of product designsPrepare reports and presentations to technical and non-technical audiences. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 10 years of experience working in product development, familiarity with stage-gate processProject Management experience managing multiple projectsWorking knowledge and experience with technical toolsAbility to travel (15-20%) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s in mechanical engineeringExperience in plumbing, building materials or manufacturing industries. COMPETENCIES: Demonstrated skill in being detail-oriented, organized work, setting priorities, and sound decision makingTechnical aptitude and familiarity with machining molding & assembly manufacturing processesDemonstrated ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization, with strong written, verbal, active listening, leadership, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated collaborative approach to learning and performing.
