As a Product Engineer at Inalfa Roof Systems, you are in the driver's seat for developing improved or new designs for automotive sunroof modules and roof systems, directing building, modification, and testing of products, and ensuring the product design meets all customer and Inalfa Roof Systems specifications. Job Title: Product Engineer I Department: Engineering Reports To: Director of Manufacturing Engineering FLSA status: Exempt ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Oversee the engineering change processSupport all DOE activitiesWork with manufacturing engineering on DFM/DFA analysisSupport manufacturing and quality with plant build issues and root cause analysisUpdate DFMEA’s as requiredEnsure SPV testing performed as required, results and actions communicated to organizationSupport cost reduction activities as appropriateSupport Purchasing and SQA with technical input in to supply base issuesSupport plant liaisons with technical input in to customer assembly plant issuesSupport CIP activities as appropriateSupport all Kaizen activities as appropriateUtilize appropriate CAD system, access and make minor updates to drawings Supervisory Responsibilities – n IATF 16949/ ISO14001 / ISO 45001 RESPONSIBILITIES: The IATF16949and ISO14001 responsibilities listed below are required for this position. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
