Senior Java Backend Software Engineer

About The Engagement We're working with an energy sector client that helps coordinate electricity supply and demand across a large regional grid. Because electricity can't be easily stored, supply and demand have to be balanced in real time - and our client solves this problem with a Demand Response program, where large electricity users are notified to reduce usage during peak periods (and are compensated or discounted for participating). We're looking for a Backend Software Engineer with strong Java and Spring Boot experience to help them modernize and migrate their platform through hands-on development, as well as help the team adopt AI tools in their SDLC in a coordinated way that Equal Experts has already developed. Please note:This is an urgent project need with an anticipated September 8 start date. Candidates should be readily available to interview and able to onboard promptly if selected.Hourly rate range listed reflects both the US and Canada. Final hourly rate will be determined by Equal Experts based on geography, experience, and overall fit.
