In the Storefront team, we are the first impression of a customer’s shopping experience; we own the design and implementation of the customer-facing website. We partner with Product, Experience Design, Analytics and business leaders across Wayfair; our Storefront Engineering teams ensure that we’re building technology that solves important customer problems in elegant, scalable, measurable ways. The Plans Services is concerned with providing accurate and consistent plans for the fulfillment of orders from the supplier or warehouse to the customer. The Software Development Engineer II analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and new products for local, networked, cloud-based, or Internet-related computer programs. This role involves writing code, completing programming, and performing testing and debugging of applications using current programming languages and technologies. The engineer also creates documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. Collaboration with users may be required to define system requirements and necessary modifications. What You'll Do Own the design and hands-on building of applications that are reliable, scalable, and easy to maintain.Ensure the quality of engineering direction across multiple teams within the organization.Contribute to architectural and code review discussions that impact our engineering ecosystem.Define standards to raise the bar for the teams you'll be working with.Collaborate with leads and engineers across multiple teams to solve a wide variety of business and technical problems.Ensure our systems are properly documented.Contribute to the growth and development of the Wayfair engineering organization. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of transferable software development experience in a corporate environment.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another related technical discipline.2-3 years of professional experience in front-end development using ReactJS and modern JavaScript (ES6+).Strong understanding of HTML, CSS3, TypeScript, and responsive design principles.Proven knowledge and experience working with object-oriented programminglanguages.Experience or exposure to SQL, C#, and Java. Preferred Qualifications Experience integrating front-end components with REST APIs or GraphQL services.Solid understanding of front-end state management patterns (e.g., Redux, Context API).Basic understanding of containerized deployment environments such as Docker and Kubernetes.Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is a plus.Knowledge of modern development tools and build systems (Webpack, Babel,NPM/Yarn).Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across teams.
