Summary:
In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Infrastructure Engineering and contribute to large-scale planning related to Infrastructure Engineering deliverables.
Review and analyze moderately complex Infrastructure Engineering challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Infrastructure Engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with client personnel in Infrastructure Engineering.
Innovation Labs enables enterprise teams to evaluate emerging technologies in a secure lab environment.
The Senior Lab Engineer is a customer-focused infrastructure, cloud, endpoint, and lab engineer who helps project teams successfully use lab services while supporting the platforms behind those evaluations.
ROLE FOCUS
Serve as a trusted technical advisor to project teams using Innovation Labs for functional, pre-production technology evaluations.
Support the lab experience end-to-end: onboarding support, access provisioning, technical readiness, troubleshooting, documentation, and status communication.
Maintain and support lab platforms across endpoint, cloud, virtualization, container, networking, proxy, identity, and integration technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with project teams and project managers to translate evaluation needs into appropriate lab requirements and service capabilities.
Provide guidance on lab offerings, supported platforms, technical constraints, and effective use of the lab environment.
Troubleshoot technical issues impacting project teams, including operating systems, endpoint platforms, cloud services, connectivity, proxy services, identity, compatibility, and platform integrations.
Administer and support Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform environments used by lab customers.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, or similar tools where appropriate.
Create and maintain knowledge articles, technical procedures, operational documentation, and service standards.
Partner with senior infrastructure engineers on larger-scale platform enhancements, new offerings, lifecycle work, and service improvements.
Required Qualifications:

Experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, systems administration, lab engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Strong customer-facing skills with experience serving as a technical advisor to engineering, architecture, and project teams.
Experience supporting enterprise environments across on-premises, cloud, SaaS, and end-user computing platforms.
Hands-on experience supporting Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android platforms, plus broad knowledge of virtualization, compute, storage, networking, identity, and security technologies.
Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, container-based technologies, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform; multi-cloud experience preferred.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, problem-solving, organizational, and customer service skills.
Self-motivated team player with technical curiosity, adaptability, attention to detail, and a passion for learning emerging technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting innovation labs, proof-of-concept programs, sandbox environments, or pre-production testing platforms.
Experience supporting AI/ML platforms, emerging technologies, enterprise SaaS solutions, hybrid environments, or multi-cloud environments.
Experience supporting enterprise networking, identity, proxy, secure connectivity, access management, endpoint management, or infrastructure automation.
Experience evaluating, integrating, and operationally supporting new technologies with vendors, architects, infrastructure teams, and project teams.
Industry certifications related to cloud, infrastructure, virtualization, endpoint management, or security are a plus; hands-on experience is most important.
