Java Software Engineer

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team. The Opportunity You will play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining scalable backend systems within a fast-paced environment. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will contribute to the development of highly available applications that process large volumes of data while maintaining exceptional performance and reliability. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java.Write clean, maintainable and efficient code following best practice principles.Collaborate with engineers, analysts and stakeholders to deliver new features and enhancements.Troubleshoot production issues and identify opportunities for system improvements.Optimise application performance, scalability and reliability.Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions.Support continuous improvement initiatives across the software development lifecycle. Essential Skills & Experience Strong commercial experience developing applications in Java.Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices.Experience with Spring Framework and associated technologies.Knowledge of multithreading and concurrent programming concepts.Experience using Git and modern version control practices.Understanding of CI/CD processes and automated deployment pipelines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment. Desirable Experience Experience working on high-throughput, low-latency systems.Familiarity with distributed systems and microservice architectures.Exposure to cloud-based environments.Knowledge of JavaScript or modern web technologies.Experience working in data-driven or performance-sensitive environments.
