About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Platform Modernization Engineer to join a global enterprise technology team responsible for developing, modernizing, securing, and maintaining mission-critical information distribution and file transfer platforms.
The successful candidate will help improve platform security, reliability, and performance by modernizing legacy applications, addressing vulnerabilities and technical debt, and implementing automation and modern engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain enterprise applications, APIs, and platform services using Java and Spring Boot.Modernize legacy applications using contemporary architectures and engineering practices.Support vulnerability remediation, security improvements, and dependency upgrades.Improve platform reliability, resilience, and recoverability.Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.Develop monitoring, alerting, and observability capabilities.Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.Support containerized and cloud-ready application architectures.Develop integrations between internal systems and enterprise platforms.Work with global technology and cybersecurity teams on platform security and modernization initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Strong software development experience with Java 17+.Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and REST APIs.Experience with Python and/or JavaScript.Strong understanding of object-oriented design and software engineering principles.Experience with Linux/Unix and shell scripting.Knowledge of HTTPS, SSH/SFTP, SMTP, TLS, and TCP/IP.Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.Experience with Git, CI/CD, and automated testing.Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.Understanding of secure coding, vulnerability management, and application security.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Kafka or IBM MQ.Experience with enterprise or managed file transfer platforms.Knowledge of PGP, cryptography, key management, and certificate management.Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.Experience with Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry.Knowledge of SAST, SCA, and vulnerability scanning tools.Experience with workflow automation platforms such as Temporal.Experience with DevSecOps, Platform Engineering, or large-scale modernization projects.
