Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a DevOps Engineer 3.
The work will be done hybrid in Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX, with onsite work required twice per week and as requested.
This is a long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client.
Compensation is up to $80.00/hour + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
The DevOps Engineer will support engineering teams in developing, building, testing, and deploying cloud-based software solutions and infrastructure.
This role will focus heavily on AWS cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, MLOps/AI services, and troubleshooting complex application and cloud connectivity issues.
The engineer will work independently on complex infrastructure components while partnering with cross-functional development teams to improve software quality, scalability, and deployment efficiency.
This position requires extensive hands-on AWS and DevOps experience along with strong technical communication and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and deploy cloud-based software systems, applications, and infrastructure.Manage AWS IAM and troubleshoot cloud connectivity, application, infrastructure, and networking issues.Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Actions, and YAML.Build and deploy AWS cloud infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.Support AWS MLOps and AI environments utilizing technologies such as SageMaker, Bedrock, ECS/EKS, and IAM.Work directly with engineering teams to develop, debug, test, and deploy cloud solutions while serving as a DevOps technical resource.Perform integrated testing and customer acceptance testing to ensure reliable, high-quality releases.Identify complex technical problems, perform troubleshooting and resolution, and support critical systems when necessary.Establish strong software engineering and DevOps practices while identifying opportunities to improve scalability, quality, and team effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma required; a college degree is not required.5–7 years of software development experience, including at least 5 years of DevOps engineering experience.At least 5 years of hands-on Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud experience.Strong proficiency with GitHub and GitHub Actions, including YAML-based CI/CD pipelines.Experience writing and deploying AWS cloud infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation templates.Strong AWS experience with MLOps and AI services, including technologies such as SageMaker Notebooks, Bedrock, ECS/EKS, and IAM.Experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud deployment practices.Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.Strong interpersonal, written, and technical communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering teams.Preferred Qualifications
Associate- or Professional-level AWS and/or Azure certifications related to DevOps, development, or architecture.Experience with AWS firewall and network configuration.Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.Experience with NVIDIA GPUs for AI use cases, particularly from cybersecurity and governance perspectives.Experience supporting MLOps, AI, or machine-learning infrastructure.Strong experience supporting scalable cloud environments and cross-functional software engineering teams.
