We're looking for a Software Engineer I to join our team supporting Quickbase's marketing website, built on Payload CMS.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone early in their career who is dedicated, coachable, and thoughtful — someone who wants to build strong technical fundamentals while working in a modern, AI-augmented development environment.
You'll work closely with senior engineers on feature development, contribute to code quality through testing and review, and partner directly with our content team to support day-to-day CMS operations like publishing, content structuring, and troubleshooting.
What You'll Do
Build and ship features for our marketing website, including active initiatives like the Payload CMS platform workParticipate in code review, sprint planning, and team ritualsWork directly with AI coding tools (e.g.
Claude Code, Copilot) as a core part of your daily workflow — not an optional add-onPartner with the content team to support CMS-based publishing and troubleshootingGrow from close mentorship and guidance into more independent ownership over time
Technical Skills
Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, with practical experience building UI components in ReactFamiliarity with headless CMS architecture (e.g.
Payload CMS, Contentful, Sanity, or similar) — understanding how content models, fields, and blocks connect to a front endWorking knowledge of REST and/or GraphQL APIs, including consuming and debugging API responsesComfort with Git and standard version control workflows (branching, pull requests, code review)Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and responsive web design principlesFamiliarity with, or genuine interest in, AI-assisted development tools (e.g.
Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) as part of daily workflowBasic understanding of web performance and accessibility fundamentals is a plus, but not required at this level
