Software Engineer - Content Platform

About Our Client The organization operates a large online platform that hosts more than 100,000 active communities and serves approximately 130 million daily active unique visitors. It provides a space for open and authentic conversations across a wide range of topics. Its Infrastructure organization focuses on reliability, performance, and efficiency through a unified technology stack, while the Content Platform team powers core user experiences such as feeds, posting, commenting, and voting. About the Opportunity The Software Engineer, Content Platform plays a key role in building and maintaining scalable, fault-tolerant systems that support the platform’s core content experiences. This position directly impacts the user experience by improving the availability, scalability, and efficiency of critical backend services. The role involves collaborating across engineering teams, identifying opportunities to strengthen the platform, and delivering reliable systems that support continued growth. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and deliver software primarily using Go and Python to improve system performance and reliability. • Maintain and enhance backend services supporting critical user journeys. • Implement system-level improvements and complex code modifications. • Identify platform gaps and contribute to technical solutions that support future growth. • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and incorporate customer feedback into platform improvements. • Participate in on-call rotations and support monitoring, alerting, and incident response. • Continuously develop technical expertise and communication skills. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. • Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Go, Python, C++, or Java. • Experience working with databases such as Cassandra, PostgreSQL, or Redis. • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure technologies such as Kubernetes, gRPC, AWS, or GCP. • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams. • Experience developing high-scale platform services and APIs is advantageous. Pay Range and Compensation Package • Base salary range: $164,200–$229,900 USD. • Eligible for equity compensation in the form of restricted stock units. • Potential commission may apply depending on the position. • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan with employer match.
