Senior Backend Engineer (PHP)

Your mission JTL is one of the leading providers of e-commerce software in the German-speaking region — with around 450 employees across the group and more than 50,000 customers across a wide range of industries. We develop scalable, flexible solutions for the online retail of the future, from ERP systems to shop and marketplace integrations. You'll work on the integrations that connect leading e-commerce marketplaces like Amazon and eBay to our ERP system, JTL-Wawi. You'll build new features, modernize existing structures, and help plan and develop connections to new marketplaces with your team. Your Responsibilities Build and evolve mainly the backend — and occasionally the frontend — in native PHP and SymfonyDevelop and continually rework the processes that handle and deliver large volumes of dataDesign forward-looking architectures and solutions based on stakeholder requirementsEnsure quality through unit testing and code reviewsShape our products and features around what's best for customers, and assist the Support team on customer systems when they need technical help Your profile You have excellent skills in object-oriented PHPYou're experienced in processing large volumes of data with MySQL and/or MongoDBYou know your way around APIs, including documenting them with the OpenAPI SpecUnit and/or integration tests are part of your everyday work, and you're very confident with GitYou bring a high quality standard and a goal-oriented approach, work independently, and coordinate well within a teamYou get into complex topics quickly and enjoy tricky challenges, high traffic, and billions of records Nice to have Experience in, or strong interest in, the e-commerce industryExperience with SymfonyExperience developing open source projectsExperience working in an agile team Why us?
