This is an on site position in Holbrook, NY with paid relocation. MissionHires is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer on behalf of a growing technology company. This highly visible, hands-on technical leadership role owns complex electronic systems throughout the full product lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through design, qualification, production, and sustainment. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in analog and digital design, power electronics, high-voltage systems, controls, and harsh-environment applications. How You'll Contribute Provide principal-level technical leadership from requirements definition and system architecture through qualification, production, and product sustainment.Design, analyze, simulate, and verify complex analog and digital circuits for demanding and harsh-environment applications.Develop electronic architectures incorporating A/D conversion, processors, microcontrollers, I/O, and communications interfaces.Design and analyze power-electronics solutions using MOSFET, IGBT, SiC, and GaN technologies.Develop and optimize DC/DC converter architectures for demanding applications.Perform thermal, electrical-stress, worst-case, tolerance, aging, FMEA, EMI, and radiation analyses.Design high-power, high-voltage, and EMI-conscious PCB/PWB layouts.Apply control theory and digital-control techniques to motor-control and power-control systems.Develop sensor interfaces for LVDTs, resolvers, encoders, and related devices.Develop and evaluate communication interfaces including CAN, RS-232/422/485, SPI, JTAG, PCI/PCIe, and 1G/10G Ethernet.Create clear engineering requirements, specifications, design documentation, and technical-review presentations.Evaluate design tradeoffs involving performance, cost, schedule, reliability, manufacturability, and technical risk.Support prototype development, qualification activities, manufacturing, suppliers, and production through hands-on troubleshooting.Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions for complex hardware problems.Support legacy products while identifying design improvements and product-enhancement opportunities.Guide engineers and contribute to technical direction, engineering standards, and design methodologies. What Makes You a Great Fit Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.15+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience developing complex electronic products.Deep experience in both analog and digital circuit design.Strong experience with A/D conversion, processors, microcontrollers, I/O, and communication interfaces.Significant hands-on power-electronics experience, including MOSFET, IGBT, SiC, and/or GaN technologies.Experience designing and analyzing DC/DC converters.Strong understanding of high-power, high-voltage, and EMI-conscious hardware design.Experience with PCB/PWB layout for demanding electrical and EMI environments.Knowledge of MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-704, DO-160, and MIL-STD-461 requirements.Hands-on experience performing thermal, electrical-stress, worst-case, tolerance, aging, FMEA, and EMI analyses.Experience with radiation effects, including SEU and TID, where applicable to electronic systems.Strong understanding of motor control and control theory, including Z-domain analysis and Clark/Park transforms.Experience interfacing with sensors such as LVDTs, resolvers, and encoders.Working knowledge of CAN, RS-232/422/485, SPI, JTAG, PCI/PCIe, and Ethernet.Experience developing electronics for aerospace, defense, military, or other harsh-environment and mission-critical applications is preferred.Experience with radiation-hardened or radiation-tolerant electronics is preferred.Experience with LTspice, PSpice, OrCAD, Allegro, and MATLAB/Simulink is preferred.Demonstrated success leading technically complex projects or serving as a technical authority or subject-matter expert.Experience supporting the complete product lifecycle, including architecture, design, qualification, manufacturing, production troubleshooting, and sustainment.U.S. citizenship or permanent work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
