About the RoleIntermedia is looking for a Core Systems Automation Engineer – L1 to join our Platform & Operations team. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain automation-driven infrastructure solutions in a highly available production environment. The position focuses on improving operational efficiency, reliability, and observability through scripting, automation, and modern infrastructure practices. This is a remote position supporting a global environment. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for infrastructure and operationsCreate, modify, and maintain scripts using PowerShell (required), Python, and AnsibleApply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to system configuration and deploymentMaintain and enhance monitoring and alerting platforms (Grafana, Zabbix)Integrate systems using APIs (REST, JSON, YAML)Support virtualization platforms including VMware and Hyper-VTroubleshoot complex system, performance, and automation issues in production environmentsCollaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects and platform improvementsMaintain source control using Git and contribute to CI/CD pipelines where applicableDocument systems, processes, and automation workflows Required Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong experience with Linux and Windows Server administrationHands-on experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell required; Python or Ansible preferred)Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware and/or Hyper-V)Experience supporting production infrastructure environmentsStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Qualifications Experience with AWX, Kubernetes, or DockerFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI)Experience with advanced monitoring platforms (VictoriaMetrics, Telegraf)Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure Why Join Intermedia Work on automation-first, enterprise-scale infrastructureBuild platforms that directly improve reliability and operational efficiencyCollaborate with highly skilled, international engineering teamsGrow your career in a company that promotes from withinBe part of a culture built on trust, ownership, and continuous improvement Diversity, Inclusion & Equal OpportunityIntermedia is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
