Job Description:
Job Title: Software Engineer - Govtech
Duration: 6 Months Contract (Temp to Hire)
Location: Downtown Toronto
Temporary to Hire (long term contract or FTE conversion)
Toronto - Hybrid schedule in office 2-3 days per week
As a Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for executing integrations with partners, making tradeoffs between technical investments and product work, and collaborating with other engineers on system design.
You will help shape the product direction by developing a deep understanding of the customer and working closely with cross-functional partners from Product, Design, Science, and Operations.
You will work with a group of talented engineers and help the team to deliver significant business impact.

Responsibilities:
Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code
Can help support large projects from idea to positive execution
Unblock, support and communicate with external and internal partners to achieve results
Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge
Share your knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and promoting appropriate tech and engineering best practices
Requirements:
3+ years of software engineering experience with high-level programming languages.
Experience with Python and Go required.
BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Strong background in distributed systems, and proficient in relational or NoSQL databases.
Proven experience in designing, debugging, and managing fault-tolerant, highly available, large-scale distributed systems.
Experience working with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, etc.) Nice to have: proficiency in AI tools.
