Director/VP of Front End Software Development

Overview: We are seeking an experienced (VP)/(Director) of Front End Software Development to lead our efforts in creating cutting-edge technology solutions for our clients. This role demands not only technical expertise in modern front-end technologies—such as React, Next.js, Flexbox, TailwindCSS, CSS animations, JavaScript animations, HTML email creation, and banner ad creation—but also a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical promotions industry. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in translating client needs into innovative, high-quality digital products while maintaining direct communication with clients to ensure their expectations are not only met but exceeded. Key Responsibilities: Innovative Technology Solutions: Lead the development of innovative front-end solutions that set industry standards and deliver exceptional user experiences.Utilize cutting-edge technologies, including React, Next.js, Flexbox, TailwindCSS, CSS animations, and JavaScript animations, to create highly responsive and visually engaging digital products.Oversee the creation of HTML emails and banner ads that are not only compliant with industry standards but also stand out in terms of design and functionality.Foster a culture of innovation within the team, encouraging the exploration of new technologies and approaches to solve complex challenges. Client-Focused Development: Engage directly with clients to understand their unique needs, challenges, and objectives.Translate client requirements into detailed technical specifications and project plans.Maintain open and clear communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring transparency, managing expectations, and addressing any concerns promptly.Present cutting-edge solutions and technical strategies to clients, demonstrating how our approach will meet their needs and provide them with a competitive edge. Design Collaboration: Work closely with design teams, utilizing Figma or other design-related tools, to ensure seamless integration of design and development.Translate complex design prototypes and wireframes into functional and aesthetically pleasing front-end implementations.Ensure that the development team is aligned with design principles and that the final product reflects the intended user experience. Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of front-end developers, promoting best practices in coding, architecture, and design.Collaborate with other directors and executives to align technology initiatives with business goals and client requirements.Ensure that all front-end projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. Pharmaceutical Promotions Expertise: Leverage your deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry to guide the development of compliant and effective digital campaigns.Work closely with marketing and creative teams to ensure that all front-end solutions adhere to industry regulations while meeting client objectives. Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of front-end projects, managing resources within timelines and budgets effectively.Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including back-end developers, designers, and product managers, to deliver cohesive and efficient solutions.Provide regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders on project progress, ensuring all parties are aligned and informed. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus. Experience: 7+ years of experience in front-end development, with a focus on React, Next.js, Flexbox, TailwindCSS, CSS animations, JavaScript animations, HTML email creation, and banner ad creation.3+ years in a leadership role, managing teams and client-facing projects.Proven experience in the pharmaceutical promotions industry, with a strong understanding of regulatory environments.Deep experience with Figma or other design-related tools, ensuring a strong collaboration between design and development teams. Technical Skills: Expertise in React, Next.js, Flexbox, TailwindCSS, and advanced CSS and JavaScript animations.Proficiency in HTML email creation and banner ad design, ensuring responsiveness and cross-platform compatibility.Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.Experience with version control systems such as Git.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes. Client Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to engage directly with clients and build strong relationships.Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, client-friendly language.Experience in presenting technical strategies and solutions to executive-level clients. Additional VP-Level Responsibilities Establish engineering standards, architecture, and front-end best practices across multiple client engagements.Own delivery quality, technical governance, resource planning, estimation, and risk management.Drive efficient Figma-to-code workflows, reusable component libraries, responsive implementation, accessibility, and performance optimization.Champion AI-assisted development and LLM workflows to improve productivity while maintaining code quality and regulatory compliance.Partner with UX, Creative, Strategy, Editorial, QA, and DevOps teams to launch brand.com websites, landing pages, HTML emails, banners, and campaign assets.Build trusted client relationships, lead technical discovery sessions, present solutions, and support new business efforts.Mentor senior engineers while remaining capable of contributing production code during critical delivery periods. Recommended Positioning Updates Figma-to-Code Excellence Own the end-to-end process of translating Figma designs into responsive, accessible, pixel-perfect digital experiences. Ensure design intent is faithfully implemented across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices while maintaining performance, usability, and code quality. Experience with Figma Dev Mode, design systems, design tokens, responsive layouts, CSS architecture, accessibility (WCAG), animation, and cross-browser compatibility is highly desirable. AI-Assisted Development Experience using AI-powered development tools and Large Language Models (LLMs)—such as ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar—to accelerate front-end development, improve code quality, generate components, and streamline the Figma-to-code workflow while maintaining engineering best practices. Day-to-Day Client Leadership Lead technical discussions with clients, gather requirements, translate business objectives into technical solutions, coordinate closely with UX, Creative, Account, Editorial, QA, and Project Management teams, proactively identify delivery risks, and communicate technical recommendations clearly throughout the project lifecycle. Additional Key Responsibilities Serve as the technical lead for front-end engineering across multiple simultaneous client engagements.Maintain high-quality, reusable, maintainable front-end code through code reviews and engineering best practices.Establish reusable component libraries, coding standards, and front-end development workflows.Mentor front-end developers and provide technical guidance while remaining an active contributor to the codebase.Partner closely with QA to ensure high-quality, defect-free launches.Estimate technical effort, identify delivery risks early, and help keep projects on schedule.Lead implementation of pharmaceutical brand.com websites, HCP and patient experiences, landing pages, HTML emails, banner campaigns, and interactive digital experiences.Stay current with emerging front-end technologies and AI-assisted development techniques to continuously improve team efficiency and delivery quality.
