Within the Group Chief Operating Office (GCOO) Division, the GCOO/CFT (Corporate Functions Technologies) department is the IT function for the Service Units and their business lines and supports them in their transformation.
The GCOO/CFT/ITO/SWE service is responsible for maintaining three business applications developed in Python/Django for the Finance Division (DFIN) and for Audit and Inspection (IGAD), as well as a rapid development offering (FIT) for central functions.
In this context, the Software Engineer works on application projects from requirements gathering through to partner approval of the delivered solution, as well as all run activities.
Your role in a nutshell:
The Software Engineer’s mission is to analyse, specify, design, develop, maintain, and evolve solutions that meet business partners’ needs, in compliance with deadlines and with quality, performance, security, and maintainability criteria.
They also contribute to the takeover, maintenance, and optimization of existing applications, as well as to the implementation of DevOps practices, deployment automation, and environment management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analysis & Design
Analyse business needs and define solution specifications within business, technical, and quality constraintsDesign and deliver aligned, end-to-end solutions
Development & Evolution
Develop, enhance, and optimize Python applications (front-end, back-end, Django, APIs) including technical debt remediationEnsure application evolution, takeover, and quality through automated testing
Maintenance & Operations
Ensure application maintenance, operations and production stabilityProvide technical support, bug fixing, deployment assistance, and participate in functional validation
DevOps & Environments
Automate deployments, implement CI/CD pipelines, and manage all environments using IaC (Infrasctructure as Code)Contribute to DevOps practices and team upskilling
Performance, Security & Documentation
Ensure performance, monitoring, patching, optimization, and enforce security and data protection standardsMaintain technical documentation and reference tools (GitHub, JIRA, MkDocs)
Collective contribution
Participate in defining and implementing the team’s technical skills baseline in close coordination with the team’s operational managerWork cooperatively with other entities, production, and project teams while providing regular updates, progress reporting, and feedback to the team’s operational manager.
PROFILE and required experience:
Foreign Languages
English: minimum B2 level in both written and oral communication; French is a plus.
Development & Data
Python full-stack development (Django) and database management (PostgreSQL) – experience: minimum 3 yearsSearch and data handling technologies (Elasticsearch) – nice to have
Testing & Quality
Test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing (Playwright or equivalent) – experience: minimum 3 yearsEnd-to-end validation and quality assurance practices – nice to have
DevOps & Automation
Version control and CI/CD pipeline automation tools (GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) – experience: minimum 3 years
Cloud & Infrastructure
Cloud platforms and container orchestration (Kubernetes) – experience: minimum 3 yearsInfrastructure as Code (Terraform) and environment management – experience: minimum 1 year
Agile & Project Management
