Description

FullStack AI Engineer - $175 - $225 + equity - LA or San Diego Traditional firms often buckle under the weight of a security compromise, whether it’s the delegation of responsibility for different areas of the attack, mitigating data loss and running services or simply providing comms to market, it’s either too slow, not comprehensive enough, or not well practiced despite having plans in place. This is where my client steps in in terms of their incident response simulator. Hyper-customised, providing businesses with a fully scoped environment from which they can run live incidents and outages and measure the efficacy of how a business responds, reporting back on the good and the areas for improvement all within a simulated environment, preparing you for the unexpected down the line. Thanks to strong investment, sustained growth, and an already impressive product, they’re now looking for an additional engineer to join their west-coast team on a full-time basis (ideally within commutable distance of LA or San Diego). You’ll join as the 2nd engineer in a relatively tight-knit team, working directly with the founders and engineer having a genuine say in what gets built, what you’ve experienced from other firms / responses, and how you’d look to replicate these in a live environment to provide a well-measured and bespoke product to customers at different stages and within different industries. With this, they’re looking for someone who has actually experienced first-hand cyber-type incidents and helped manage them. It doesn’t necessarily need to be a massive security breach, it could be an outage for example, but something which has caused genuine chaos meaning people across the business being pulled in to resolve it together. Why I hear you ask? Well, most AI systems can probably give a good/convincing simulation experience, but it takes someone who has been at the coalface to evaluate whether or not this actually plays out like this in reality, whether XYZ would be involved, where teams struggle and where they excel to ensure the programme is as robust and bespoke as possible. To do this, they’re looking for engineers with experience across the following: Python – for their data and AI layerNode – backendReact – frontendAWS / Cloudflare experienceHands-on AI experience – whether this is LangGraph/LangChain/FastAgent or something custom you’ve built. Most of their code is written in Claude/Cursor – so having adapted these into your day-to-day is essentialIdeally you’ll also have come from an autonomous/start-up like environment, by which I mean: wearing multiple hats, happy dealing with ambiguity, take initiative and don’t shy away from contributing (especially if you’ve got the experience to boot) Process: 30-min introductory call – panel interview with wider business – walk through of a personal project For more information on this, reach out directly to me here or simply apply. N.B – this role cannot offer sponsorship / transfer at this time.
