Job Description: We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable services on Google Cloud Platform. You’ll work across backend engineering, cloud architecture, security, and platform reliability—while continuing to deliver production-ready code. What you’ll do: Build and maintain high-performance backend services using Python/Django and Node.js/TypeScript/NestJSDesign scalable architectures on GCP, including GKE, Cloud Run, Filestore, and Pub/SubDevelop event-driven systems and optimize PostgreSQL for high-concurrency workloadsOwn the full lifecycle of services—from design and development to deployment, monitoring, and cost optimizationImplement secure OAuth2 and OpenID Connect flowsManage infrastructure using TerraformApply zero-trust principles and treat security as a core product featureCollaborate across the stack, contributing to architecture and technical decisionsStay current with emerging technologies such as Go, Rust, and TypeScript What we’re looking for: Strong professional experience with Python and/or Node.jsProven track record of delivering production-grade backend servicesHands-on experience with GCP, particularly GKE, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and related servicesStrong knowledge of PostgreSQL, performance tuning, and database designExperience with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code, preferably TerraformUnderstanding of authentication, authorization, OAuth2, and OpenID ConnectStrong focus on security, resilience, observability, and operational excellenceA T-shaped engineering mindset: broad technical understanding with deep backend expertiseAbility to solve complex problems and build solutions that make the business better, faster, and safer Nice to have: Production experience with GoExperience with Rust or other modern backend technologiesContributions to open source, a GitHub portfolio, or a technical blogExperience designing highly available, event-driven platforms If you’re a passionate technologist who enjoys building impactful systems and still loves writing code, we’d love to hear from you.
