Software Engineer

Python Software Engineer Dublin | Office-based | Up to €80,000 plus equity I'm working with a well-backed, early-stage AI start-up in Dublin that is building production technology for the healthcare sector. The product is already live with customers and handles complex communication, scheduling and operational workflows. As the business grows, they are now looking for a mid-level Software Engineer to join their small engineering team. This is a hands-on product engineering role, with Python at the centre of the technology. You will work closely with the CTO and founding team, taking ideas from an initial customer problem through to production. What you will be doing Designing and building backend services using PythonDeveloping APIs and integrations with third-party platformsBuilding and improving AI-powered workflowsWorking on real-time communication and automation systemsOwning features from initial design through to release and iterationImproving the reliability, performance and observability of the platformWorking directly with the founding team to solve customer problemsHelping establish strong engineering practices as the team grows What they are looking for Around 3 to 5 years of commercial software engineering experienceStrong professional experience with PythonPrevious experience working in a start-up or fast-growing scale-upExperience building backend systems, APIs or integration-heavy productsA track record of shipping software into productionComfortable working in an environment where priorities can move quicklyAble to work through ambiguity without waiting for a perfect specificationStrong ownership and good product judgementA practical approach to balancing speed, quality and complexityClear communication and a collaborative mindsetExperience with AI agents, LLMs, voice technology, workflow automation or healthtech would be useful, but it is not essential.
