About The Role We are currently seeking a skilled Front-End (UI/UX) Developer for a fully remote position supporting a significant federal healthcare modernization project. The successful candidate will play a vital role in developing an AI-powered Patient Health Data Summarization capability within the Joint Longitudinal Viewer (JLV). This functionality is delivered through a Clinical Decision Support (CDS) widget that provides clinicians with AI-generated insights derived from clinical documentation and health records. The developer will be responsible for designing and implementing intuitive, accessible, and responsive user interfaces that enhance clinician decision-making and support transparency, source traceability, and usability of AI-generated clinical information. This role involves close collaboration within an Agile, multidisciplinary team comprising Product Owners, UX Designers, clinical subject matter experts, architects, business analysts, test engineers, interoperability teams, and DevSecOps engineers. The developer will work to ensure seamless integration of healthcare applications into clinician workflows, adhering to healthcare standards and best practices. The position requires a strong focus on user-centered design principles, accessibility standards, and the delivery of high-quality, production-ready healthcare software solutions. Candidates must reside within the continental United States and be committed to supporting federal healthcare initiatives with integrity and professionalism. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.Minimum of 5+ years of professional front-end development experience.Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript.Experience developing responsive, accessible web applications using modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.Demonstrated knowledge of accessibility standards including WCAG and ARIA.Experience creating complex, data-intensive user interfaces and visualizations.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work effectively within Agile, multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities Design and develop responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces for healthcare applications.Create reusable components using modern front-end frameworks and component-based architectures.Develop data-rich visualizations, workflows, and clinical decision support features that simplify complex information for clinicians.Implement user interfaces supporting CDS workflows, including CDS cards, notifications, and patient-context-aware experiences.Integrate front-end applications with backend services and clinical data sources, ensuring transparency and traceability of AI-generated summaries.Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, and UI tests to ensure application quality and usability.Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, and adhere to development standards.Collaborate within Agile teams on sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, testing, and releases.Support additional project tasks as needed to meet team objectives and project deadlines. Additional Qualifications Experience supporting Veterans Affairs (VA), federal healthcare programs, or healthcare technology environments.Familiarity with clinical workflows and healthcare terminology.Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR, C-CDA, CDS Hooks, SMART on FHIR.Experience with healthcare data visualization and human-centered design methodologies.Experience working in AWS or Azure cloud environments.Knowledge of AI-generated content and AI-assisted software development tools.
