Senior Software Engineer - Oracle PL/SQL

Job Description Software Engineer (Oracle – PL/SQL) Responsibilities Should have strong knowledge of all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Planning, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment, and Support. Understand business requirements, technical documentation, and application design specifications. Translate business and technical requirements into functional software solutions. Follow established coding standards, development guidelines, and company procedures during development activities. Develop optimized PL/SQL queries, procedures, packages, and database objects. Create and maintain unit tests to validate code changes and ensure high-quality deliverables. Contribute to reducing SonarQube violations and security findings identified through Veracode or equivalent tools. Actively participate in project-level discussions, Agile/Scrum ceremonies, and technical review meetings. Maintain legacy code and implement new requirements while ensuring application stability and maintainability. Prepare technical documentation, process flow diagrams, and support documentation for developed solutions. Develop and support one or more assigned applications while collaborating with team members and senior developers. Troubleshoot and resolve issues of moderate complexity by analyzing application behavior, code, and database performance. Proactively communicate status, risks, issues, and proposed solutions to team members and managers. Take ownership of assigned stories and deliverables from development through implementation. Build productive working relationships with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Must Have Skills At least 2-4 years of experience in software development using Oracle PL/SQL and/or MS SQL Server. Strong knowledge of relational databases, database design principles, and SQL optimization techniques. Must be familiar with Oracle performance tuning and optimization techniques. Good understanding of software development principles and object-oriented programming concepts. Familiarity with software development best practices, code reviews, and secure coding standards. Experience with source control systems such as Git or Subversion, including branching and merging strategies. Understanding software testing methodologies, including unit testing and defect resolution. Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and software deployment processes. Basic understanding of container technologies and modern application development practices. Must be familiar with Linux operating system fundamentals and basic Linux commands. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on issues of moderate complexity. Ability to implement technical solutions with guidance and apply established development procedures and practices. Preferable Skills Knowledge of Shell and/or Perl scripting languages. Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, and Crucible. Experience working with SonarQube, Veracode, or similar code quality and security scanning tools. Experience supporting enterprise applications in production environments. Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies. US Healthcare experience would be an added advantage. Soft Skills Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams would be an added value. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
