About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mobile Engineer to join our Unsecured Installment team. This pivotal role involves leading the development and scaling of our mobile experiences for small dollar and personal loans. As the senior technical owner of the team's mobile initiatives, you will operate as a mobile generalist with specialized expertise in React Native, while also bringing native Android development skills to spearhead our upcoming Android app launch. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping the long-term mobile architecture, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and reliable mobile solutions that enhance the borrower experience. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence product strategy, drive technical excellence, and mentor engineering teams, all within a high-visibility, cross-functional environment. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineering stakeholders to translate roadmaps into practical, innovative mobile solutions that align with business goals and user needs. Qualifications 8+ years of software engineering experience, with extensive hands-on experience building and shipping mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript.Strong native Android development expertise in Kotlin and/or Java, with proven experience launching or maintaining native Android applications in production environments.Demonstrated success leading cross-team mobile initiatives, platform migrations, or launching new mobile products at scale.Experience delivering consumer-facing mobile products with a focus on performance, reliability, and user experience.Proven technical leadership as a senior individual contributor, including architecture ownership, mentorship, and influence across teams. Responsibilities Serve as the primary mobile engineer and React Native specialist for the Unsecured Installment team, elevating code quality, scalability, and development velocity.Lead the Android development efforts to deliver on the company's aggressive Android launch plan, translating business objectives into technical milestones.Define and evolve the mobile architecture, ensuring a robust foundation across React Native and native Android platforms.Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to convert roadmap priorities into durable, user-centric mobile solutions.Ensure engineering excellence through code reviews, technical mentorship, and pragmatic problem-solving in high-visibility projects.Post-launch, continue to serve as the mobile subject matter expert, supporting both React Native and native Android development to maintain and improve the mobile stack.
