About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer II to join our FOLIO Operations team.
This role focuses on supporting large-scale, cloud-based library platforms, ensuring the resilience, automation, and high availability of mission-critical systems within a multi-tenant SaaS environment.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for building scalable infrastructure, automating operational workflows, and maintaining system reliability.
The successful candidate will work with cutting-edge technologies, including cloud services, microservices architectures, and automation tools, to support the FOLIO Library Management System—a modern, open-source, cloud-native platform designed to meet the evolving needs of libraries worldwide.
This position requires U.S.
Citizenship, with eligibility and willingness to obtain a government security clearance, to support the security and compliance requirements of the organization.
Qualifications
U.S.
Citizenship and willingness to obtain a security clearanceMinimum of 2+ years experience in AWS operations and support, including ECS, S3, PostgreSQL, Lambda, and automation developmentProficiency in Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and JenkinsStrong programming skills in Java, Groovy, and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python)Experience working with microservices and serverless architecturesFamiliarity with Atlassian tools such as JIRA and JSMExcellent communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skillsProven ability to manage and support multiple products simultaneously (preferably 2-3 systems)Willingness to work during US Eastern business hours (8-5)Experience with API gateway and authentication layers (e.g., Kong, Keycloak) is preferredKnowledge of AI tools and automation techniques is a plus
Responsibilities
Support and maintain highly scalable production systems across multiple products, including FOLIO, LOCATE, and MetaDB, in a fast-paced environmentMonitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues with a focus on system reliability and performanceDevelop and enhance automation workflows using Java, Groovy, and scripting to streamline operationsManage and optimize cloud infrastructure utilizing AWS services such as CloudFormation, ECS, S3, Route53, CloudFront, Load Balancers, and Lambda functionsContribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows, ensuring continuous integration and delivery using JenkinsParticipate in on-call rotations to ensure system availability and incident response readinessCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer environments at scale and ensure seamless operationsAssist in managing API gateway and authentication layers, including Kong and KeycloakIdentify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through AI and automation techniquesSupport and implement best practices for system security, scalability, and performance
