Software Engineer

We are hiring a Software Developer to support a major Point-of-Sale modernization initiative for a leading building materials retailer. This individual will join the IT Deployment Team and help design, build, and support the applications and tools used throughout the POS rollout. This is a hands-on role working primarily with Python, Angular, relational databases, and Jenkins. The Developer will partner closely with Business Analysts and Deployment Specialists to support store launches, troubleshoot technical issues, and build solutions that improve deployment and ongoing store operations. Responsibilities Provide technical support during POS rollouts to new store locationsEnsure software, infrastructure, and database installations are completed successfullyTroubleshoot application issues reported by stores and deployment team membersIdentify larger technical concerns and escalate them to the appropriate development teamsManage and support relational databases containing POS configuration, store data, and deployment tracking informationAnalyze and interpret data to help resolve deployment and application issuesPartner with Business Analysts to turn store workflow needs into technical solutionsBuild demos, training tools, and other resources for store teamsDevelop and maintain Python-based back-end services and APIsMaintain Angular front-end applications used by store employees and internal teamsBuild and support Jenkins jobs for software deployments, log retrieval, analysis, and related processesWrite clean, well-documented code and participate in code reviewsAssist with testing, QA, and validation throughout deployment cyclesContribute to future applications built on the POS platform as the program continues to grow Preferred Qualifications Professional development experience with Python and AngularExperience working with relational databases and interpreting application dataExperience with JenkinsFamiliarity with Git and CI/CD pipelinesExperience supporting software deployments and troubleshooting application issuesExposure to POS systems, retail technology, or enterprise application rollouts is a plusExperience with warehouse, inventory, or distribution technology is a plusPrevious experience working in or supporting a building materials or retail store environment is a plusStrong communication skills and the ability to work across development, business analysis, and deployment teams No C2C or third-party candidates will be considered.
