LCI is seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer for our Melbourne office, however, we will consider the position in our Sydney or Brisbane offices for the right candidate.

Your key responsibilities will include (and are not limited to): -
Manage projects end-to-end across design and construction phases.Design and specify BMS/EPMS/SCADA and control systems for data centre critical plant (chilled water, CRAC/CRAH, UPS, generators, switchgear, electrical distribution).Develop Sarchitecture, control network schematics, HMI layouts, sequences of operation, and control philosophies.Prepare technical documentation: system briefs, specifications, sequence of operation, point lists, I/O schedules, drawings and schematics.Define scope demarcation between BMS, EPMS, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic trades; coordinate design across disciplines to resolve clashes.Design alarm management frameworks (priority classification, escalation logic, NOC/BMS integration).Review contractor shop drawings, submittals, as-built docs, and commissioning/IST documentation.Support tender evaluation and contractor selection for BMS/EPMS/SCADA packages.Conduct site inspections/surveys for reports, audits, defects, and handover.Liaise daily with architects, engineers, clients, builders, and specialist contractors.Ensure designs meet Australian Standards, OT cybersecurity requirements, and client requirements.Support fee proposals, marketing, BIM coordination, and mentor junior staff.Maintain engineering standards and ongoing professional development.
Ideal Skills and Experience
Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Controls, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
3–5+ years in BMS/EPMS/SCADA design, controls engineering, or critical facilities experience.Strong track record preparing tender/contract documentation for BMS/EPMS/SCADA packages.
Proficiency in BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA, and platforms like Tridium Niagara N4/JACE and SCADA/HMI systems.Knowledge of redundant/high-availability system architecture and network segregation.System integration experience (DCIM, access control, energy metering, fire).OT/ICS cybersecurity know-how, including segmentation and secure remote access.
Strong written communication skills; data centre or mission-critical experience essential.HV/MV SCADA with IEC61850 knowledge will be a great advantage.
