This role sits at the heart of a major data centre project in Finsterwalde, where strong commercial leadership will directly influence project performance, margin and outcomes.

The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor (Mechanical), you will take full commercial responsibility for the project, working closely with the Commercial Manager, Project Manager and site teams to ensure successful delivery.
You’ll lead the commercial and contractual function from early stages through to final account, acting as a key interface with the client and supply chain while protecting commercial position and managing risk throughout.
This is a hands‑on role with genuine influence, not a reporting‑only position.
Key Responsibilities
Full management and ownership of commercial and contractual requirements across the project lifecycleActing as the primary commercial interface with the client’s commercial and contract teamsManaging project procurement, including mechanical subcontractorsCarrying out cost management, forecasting and risk analysisReviewing all incoming correspondence from the client, design team and subcontractors, identifying contractually critical items and initiating appropriate responsesManaging the commercial performance of subcontractors, including valuations, variations and final accountsPreparing accurate project cost reports, margin forecasts and cashflow reportsLeading change control procedures, negotiating and agreeing costs with the clientPreparing and submitting monthly valuations and certificationsDriving the project through to final account agreement
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within mechanical or M&E contractingBackground delivering data centres, mission‑critical, life sciences or pharmaceutical projectsStrong understanding of commercial and contractual managementComfortable engaging directly with clients, consultants and senior project stakeholdersCommercially astute, detail‑focused and confident managing riskA practical, delivery‑focused approach with the ability to see the bigger picture
