Remote Software Developer

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Software Developer based in Nepal to join our growing remote development team. This position is ideal for a developer who enjoys solving complex business problems, collaborating closely with team members, and working within enterprise-level applications. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, maintenance, enhancement, and troubleshooting of large-scale software systems. The role requires strong technical expertise, effective communication, and the ability to work in a collaborative, pair-programming environment. Experience working with U.S. insurance systems and enterprise applications will be considered a significant advantage. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot. - Develop and maintain front-end applications using React.js. - Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries and database objects. - Design and manage database schemas using PostgreSQL. - Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues across multiple system layers. - Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards and best practices. - Work collaboratively through pair programming and real-time problem-solving sessions. - Participate in application support, maintenance, and production issue resolution. - Understand and implement business requirements within existing enterprise architectures. - Contribute to system improvements, refactoring efforts, and technical documentation. Required Technical Skills Programming Languages and Frameworks - Java - Spring Boot - React.js - SQL - PostgreSQL Enterprise Development Concepts Candidates should be familiar with enterprise application development concepts, including: - Business Objects (BO/BOP) - Service Layer architecture - Data Access Objects (DAO) - Data Transfer Objects (DTO) - Value Objects (VO) - POJOs (Plain Old Java Objects) - Repository Pattern - RESTful APIs - MVC architecture - Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) - Exception handling and debugging - Dependency Injection - Layered application architecture Development Tools and Practices - Git and version control systems - Code reviews - Pair programming - Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis - Software maintenance and production support Required Qualifications - Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience. - Demonstrated experience building and maintaining applications using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, SQL, and PostgreSQL. - Strong understanding of enterprise software architecture and software development principles. - Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Preferred Qualifications - Experience working within the U.S. insurance industry. - Experience supporting enterprise software systems. - Familiarity with insurance-related applications, workflows, and terminology. - Exposure to legacy system maintenance and modernization projects. - Experience working in Agile development environments. Communication and Collaboration Requirements - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Nepali. - Comfortable collaborating with distributed teams. - Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly. - Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
