Senior Platform Software Engineer Location: New York City or Chicago We're looking for a Senior Platform Software Engineer to join a world class engineering organisation building the core software infrastructure behind one of the industry's highest performance computing environments. This role sits at the heart of the platform team, developing and optimising the systems that power large scale, latency sensitive production infrastructure. You'll work close to the operating system, designing software where reliability, scalability and performance are critical, and where every optimisation has measurable impact. Responsibilities Design and develop core platform software and infrastructureBuild scalable, high performance systems running on LinuxOptimise software for latency, throughput and resource efficiencyWork closely with operating system, networking and infrastructure componentsInvestigate and resolve complex performance bottlenecks across production systemsContribute to the design and evolution of core platform architecture Requirements Expert level C++ programming skills (Rust or C experience is also beneficial)Experience developing platform software or systems infrastructureStrong understanding of Linux systems programmingExperience with multithreading, concurrency and performance optimisationExcellent understanding of CPU architecture, memory hierarchy and modern computer systemsA passion for solving challenging low level engineering problems Academic Background Candidates should have an exceptional academic background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a closely related discipline.
