Description

Loop IQ is a purpose-built intelligence platform helping care organisations move beyond fragmented spreadsheets and manual reporting — delivering the accuracy, auditability, and confidence that regulated environments demand. Alongside the platform sits our strategic consulting wing, guiding organisations through implementation and optimisation so the technology delivers from day one. About the role You'd own the testing craft end to end — test design, automation, and the release call. You won't be doing it alone: you'd work day-to-day with our Product and Engineering team, who bring deep knowledge of aged care reporting rules and the data behind them. What that doesn't mean is a test lead handing your cases to execute. You choose the approach and you write the automation yourself. Our engineering team is small, so you'll be talking directly to the person who wrote the code you just broke. The current setup: A Playwright regression suite covering the core reporting flows, running in GitHub Actions, plus a manual regression pack for the submission modules. Why the quality bar matters here Our customers are Australian aged care providers, and they use Loop IQ to produce statutory submissions that go to the regulator. When a number is wrong in our platform, a provider files an incorrect return. That's the failure mode you're protecting against. What you'll do • Own QA sign-off for releases — the go / no-go call, with our backing to hold one • Design and execute functional, regression, and exploratory testing • Validate end-to-end data flows and data integrity, from ingestion through transformation to what the customer sees • Identify data issues, edge cases, and transformation gaps • Extend and maintain the automated test suite, including CI/CD integration • Triage and prioritise defects directly with Engineering and Product • Keep staging and UAT environments release-ready Stack • Frontend: Vue 3 (customer platform), React (internal ops app), TypeScript • Backend: NestJS APIs, TypeScript • Data: SQL against Postgres; ingestion pipelines from Services Australia (PRODA / ACWS) and customer data warehouses • Infra & CI: AWS provisioned with Pulumi, GitHub Actions • API testing: Postman • E2E automation: Playwright Experience & background We care more about what you've done than how long you've been doing it. • 3+ years in QA or software testing • You've written and maintained browser automation in a code-first framework — and kept it stable enough in CI that the team still trusts it • You've tested data-heavy systems: pipelines, transformations, reporting. You write your own SQL to check whether the output is actually right • You've tested APIs directly, not only through a UI • Strong testing fundamentals — test design, regression, edge cases • You've held a release before, and can talk us through how that conversation went AI literacy We use AI tooling as part of normal engineering work and expect the same from you. Specifically: • Using coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) to scaffold tests, generate fixtures, and cover edge cases faster than by hand • Generating realistic and adversarial test data — malformed submissions, boundary values, plausible-but-wrong records — rather than a handful of happy paths • Knowing where AI output can't be trusted. An assertion written to match current behaviour will pass forever and catch nothing; we want someone alert to that • Sound judgement about what goes into these tools. We work under Australian privacy obligations and handle health data Useful but not required: experience testing LLM-backed features, where output is non-deterministic and conventional assertions don't apply. Ways of working • Strong attention to detail, especially with data • Clear, structured communication — able to articulate risk and defects precisely • Confidence to push back when a release isn't ready, and pragmatism about the quality / speed trade-off • Comfortable working across Engineering, Product, and Data Why work at Loop IQ? • Build something that matters — we're solving a real problem in a sector that affects millions of Australians • A small, high-trust team — we move fast and communicate openly. Little process, no politics • Rare access — we operate at the intersection of health data, government, and enterprise. The market access and relationships we've built are hard to find at this stage of a company
