About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Software Engineer (Backend/Integration) to join our team at Patrick Space Force Base, FL. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and involves leading software development and integration efforts supporting mission modernization and system reliability. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in modern backend development, cloud computing, containerization, and AI-assisted development. You will provide technical leadership across software and infrastructure teams, ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions in classified environments. The position offers a unique opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that directly contribute to national security objectives, with a schedule that provides every other Friday off, supporting work-life balance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a graduate degree with at least 7 years of experience, or a minimum of 13 years of experience without a degree.Active TS/SCI security clearance. Responsibilities Develop secure, scalable backend services and application logic to support mission applications and workflows.Apply best practices in software engineering throughout the development lifecycle, including code reviews, automated testing, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.Deploy and maintain applications within AWS environments, ensuring scalability, security, resilience, and cost efficiency.Engage with customers regularly to refine requirements and enhance application functionality.Prepare and deliver technical designs, implementation plans, roadmaps, and comprehensive documentation.Create and maintain technical documentation covering system design, architecture, deployment procedures, and sustainment activities.Support Agile development teams by participating in Scrum ceremonies and facilitating continuous improvement.Build and deploy mission applications in classified or high-security environments, adhering to security protocols.Obtain and maintain Security+ Certification or DoD IAT Level II Certification within six months of employment.
