Java Developer – 12-Month Contract Location: Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, UK Working Pattern: Hybrid Duration: 12 Months We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join a multi-functional Agile delivery team, developing and maintaining software products that deliver essential citizen services. Key Responsibilities Develop, test and maintain production-ready Java applications and services.Translate business requirements into robust, scalable and reusable solutions.Design reusable libraries, services and integrations.Build comprehensive automated unit and integration tests.Ensure application robustness, resilience, security and operational stability.Work closely with Technical Architects, Principal Engineers and wider delivery teams.Diagnose and resolve technical issues, including providing 3rd-line support where required.Contribute to technical documentation, coding standards and software engineering best practices.Support continuous improvement and mentor other Software Engineers.Essential Technical Skills Java | Spring Boot | AWS | Apache Kafka | MongoDB Ideal Candidate Strong commercial experience in Java software development.Experience working within Agile/SDLC environments.Strong understanding of software design, development, testing and version control.Experience developing APIs, integrations and reusable services.Good understanding of automated testing, system resilience and production support.Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Interested?
