About the Role
HubStar is looking for a Platform & Technical Services Engineer to join our team in Australia.
This is a hands-on technical role that sits at the intersection of customer support, platform operations, cloud hosting, technical consulting, and software delivery.
You will work directly with customers, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders to investigate issues, maintain production environments, deliver technical solutions, and support customer integrations.
This role requires someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex technical problems, taking ownership from start to finish, and working across a broad technology stack.
We are looking for a technical all-rounder who is equally comfortable speaking with customer IT teams, investigating a production issue, tuning a SQL query, deploying a release, troubleshooting a Microsoft 365 integration, or working alongside Engineering to identify and resolve application issues.
The ideal candidate will have experience integrating with and troubleshooting enterprise technologies such as Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Graph, SCIM, SSO, and Active Directory, and be comfortable working directly with customer IT teams to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
This is a highly visible role with direct impact on customer success, platform reliability, and product adoption.
What You'll Be Doing
Production Support & Incident Management
Own customer issues from investigation through to resolutionWork directly with customers to understand issues and guide them through solutionsTroubleshoot application, infrastructure, integration, and data-related issuesDebug front-end, back-end, database, and configuration problemsCommunicate clearly and confidently during incidents and day-to-day customer interactionsWork closely with Engineering teams when product changes are requiredParticipate in incident response and root cause analysis activitiesHelp customers get maximum value from the HubStar platform through technical guidance and best-practice recommendations
Platform Operations & Cloud Hosting
Monitor and maintain production and non-production environmentsDeploy software releases across multiple hosted environmentsApply security patches and platform updatesMonitor platform health, performance, and availabilityInvestigate and resolve infrastructure, application, and database performance issuesAnalyse application and database behaviour using logs, monitoring tools, and telemetryTroubleshoot SQL Server performance issues, including identifying problematic queries, blocking, deadlocks, and indexing opportunitiesDiagnose and remediate production issues while minimising customer impactSupport application scaling, deployment, and capacity management activitiesImprove monitoring, alerting, automation, and operational processes over timeWork closely with Engineering teams to identify root causes and implement long-term fixes
Customer Integrations & Technical Consulting
Work with customer IT teams during onboarding and implementation projectsSupport and troubleshoot integrations with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, SCIM, SSO, Microsoft Graph, and other enterprise systemsConfigure and troubleshoot Microsoft Graph and Exchange integrationsWork alongside customer IT teams to diagnose integration, authentication, provisioning, and synchronisation issuesSupport API integrations and technical solution design activitiesTranslate customer requirements into practical technical solutionsAct as a trusted technical contact for customers and implementation teams
Technical Services
Develop custom reports, integrations, and extensions using SQL, JavaScript, and platform APIsImport, transform, and validate customer data using Python and SQLBuild customer-specific technical solutions where requiredSupport implementation and professional services projects as needed
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
Experience working within a SaaS, cloud-hosted, or enterprise software environmentStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExperience supporting production systems and customer-facing applicationsExperience working directly with customers and technical stakeholdersStrong SQL skills, including querying, troubleshooting, and performance analysisExperience with Microsoft Graph API and/or Exchange Web Services (EWS)Experience troubleshooting integrations involving Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Graph, room resources, service accounts, and other enterprise systemsExperience with SCIM, SSO, Active Directory, Entra ID, or identity and provisioning technologiesExperience with scripting or development technologies such as Python, JavaScript, or similarWorking knowledge of AWS and/or AzureExcellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindsetAbility to work independently and take ownership of issues through to completion

Location
This role is primarily remote within eastern or central Australia.
