About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Platform / DevOps Engineer to join a Platform Engineering team responsible for building, operating and continuously improving cloud platform capabilities.
This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on AWS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and platform automation.
You will work closely with application and engineering teams to provide secure, reliable and scalable platforms while improving developer experience and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build and operate scalable Kubernetes-based platform capabilities on AWS.Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows to enable efficient and reliable software delivery.Build platform automation to improve operational efficiency, consistency and reliability.Apply engineering best practices across observability, security, reliability and cloud cost optimisation.Design and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and automation.Work closely with product and engineering teams to streamline application deployment and platform adoption.Apply DevOps, DevSecOps and SRE practices across platform engineering and operations.Monitor platform health, troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive root-cause resolution.Support cloud architecture, networking, security and operational controls.Contribute to continuous improvement of platform engineering standards, tooling and processes.Operate effectively within a highly regulated environment, ensuring appropriate security and controls compliance.Participate in production support and on-call rotations to maintain platform availability and reliability.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ of years strong hands-on experience in AWS platform/cloud engineering within large-scale enterprise environments.Proven experience designing, building and operating Kubernetes platforms, particularly AWS EKS.Strong understanding of AWS cloud architecture, services, networking and security.Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.Strong experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitHub Actions.Experience with containerised workloads and platforms such as EKS and ECS.Strong understanding of DevOps, Platform Engineering, DevSecOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.Experience implementing observability, platform reliability, security and operational automation.Scripting and automation experience using Python.Experience working within highly regulated enterprise environments with strong security, governance and controls requirements.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on engineering quality, automation and continuous improvement.Ability to collaborate effectively with application, product, engineering and operations teams.
