Own meaningful frontend work on an innovative geospatial platform, working at the intersection of space, software, and large-scale data. The role offers early-stage ownership, technical influence, and the opportunity to build intuitive browser-based tools for complex spatial datasets.

Description

Geospatial Front-End Developer Location: Orlando, Florida Sector: Earth Observation, Space, Geospatial Experience: Mid–Senior Level (3/4+ years experience) NewSpace Technical are working with an exciting NewSpace company that is building a modern geospatial platform to support next-generation satellite data products. Backed by strong technical leadership and a clear mission, this company is focused on making complex spatial data easier to explore, analyze, and act on. This is an opportunity to join early, have real ownership, and help shape a product that sits at the intersection of space, software, and data. The Opportunity Our client is developing a web-based platform for discovering, visualizing, and analyzing large-scale spatiotemporal datasets derived from satellite and airborne sensors. The goal is to turn massive volumes of Earth observation data into intuitive, interactive tools that users can work with directly in the browser. As a Geospatial Front-End Engineer, you’ll focus on building high-performance user interfaces using React and TypeScript, enabling users to explore complex geospatial data such as: 3D point cloud data rendered in-browser using WebGLRaster imagery (e.g. GeoTIFFs) visualized via modern web mapping frameworksVector spatial data for overlays, annotations, and region-based analysisSpatial reference systems and map projections to align and compare datasets You’ll help solve one of the core challenges in EO software: making large, high-dimensional spatial datasets feel fast, usable, and intuitive for end users. What You’ll Be Doing Building and maintaining modern front-end applications with React and TypeScriptDeveloping reusable, well-structured UI components with performance in mindTurning product requirements and design concepts into intuitive user experiencesIntegrating front-end features with backend APIs and asynchronous data pipelinesContributing to UI architecture, performance optimisation, and shared component librariesWorking closely with product, design, and engineering in a fast-moving startup environment What They’re Looking For Required 4+ years of experience building web applications with React and TypeScriptStrong understanding of component-based architecture, state management, and async data handlingExperience working within larger codebases and improving existing systemsSolid knowledge of modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSSExperience integrating front-end applications with backend services and APIsFamiliarity with modern front-end tooling, testing, and build systemsNice to Have Experience with web mapping libraries (Mapbox GL JS or similar)Exposure to WebGL or browser-based 3D renderingExperience with performance tuning in ReactWork on design systems or reusable UI librariesGood UI/UX instincts and experience collaborating with designers Why This Role Stands Out Join a NewSpace EO startup where your work has visible, real-world impactHigh ownership and influence over product and technical directionWork on cutting-edge Earth observation and geospatial technologyCollaborate with a small, highly technical team that values quality and clarityStrong opportunities for growth as the company scales If you’re a front-end engineer excited by space, geospatial data, and early-stage environments, this is a rare chance to work on a genuinely meaningful product.
