Operating across AI infrastructure, high-performance compute, cloud platforms and large-scale technology environments, Sharon AI delivers scalable, secure and commercially sustainable infrastructure solutions supporting advanced AI workloads globally. As Sharon AI continues to scale, we're looking for an experienced Security Engineer to help design, implement and continuously improve the security controls that protect our infrastructure, platforms and data. Working closely with Engineering, Infrastructure and GRC teams, you'll play a hands-on role in securing both cloud and on-premises environments while embedding security into everything we build. From vulnerability management and incident response through to DevSecOps, identity management and security tooling, you'll help shape Sharon AI's security capability as we continue to grow. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced security professional who enjoys building practical, scalable security solutions within a fast-paced, engineering-led environment. What You'll Be Doing Design, implement and maintain security controls across Sharon AI's cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP) and on-premises environments, including firewalls, endpoint protection, SIEM, identity and access management and network security tooling.Align technical security controls with Sharon AI's regulatory and compliance requirements.Lead vulnerability management activities including scanning, triage, prioritisation and remediation tracking across infrastructure and applications.Own security incident detection, response and post-incident reviews, partnering with internal teams to rapidly contain and remediate security events.Embed security into the software development lifecycle by working closely with Engineering teams on secure code reviews, threat modelling, CI/CD pipeline security and Kubernetes/container hardening.Manage identity and access management initiatives including privileged access management, SSO, MFA and Zero Trust capabilities.Coordinate penetration testing engagements and red team exercises, ensuring timely remediation of identified findings.Partner with the GRC team to support compliance initiatives including ISO 27001 and SOC 2 by implementing technical controls and providing audit evidence.Evaluate, implement and optimise security technologies that support Sharon AI's growth while ensuring operational effectiveness and scalability.Contribute to the ongoing improvement of Sharon AI's overall security posture through automation, continuous monitoring and security best practice. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).5+ years' experience in Security Engineering, Security Operations or Infrastructure Security within technology, cloud or SaaS environments.Hands-on experience securing cloud platforms including AWS, Azure or GCP.Strong understanding of networking and network security concepts including firewalls, VPNs, DNS, TLS and Zero Trust architectures.Experience with SIEM platforms, EDR/XDR technologies, vulnerability management tools and security orchestration platforms.Experience implementing DevSecOps practices across CI/CD pipelines, container platforms (Docker/Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code environments such as Terraform.Scripting or automation experience using Python, Bash or similar languages.Strong analytical, problem-solving and incident response capabilities.Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Highly Regarded Industry certifications such as CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, GIAC, OSCP, CEH or equivalent.Experience supporting AI infrastructure, GPU clusters, high-performance computing or large-scale data centre environments.Experience working within ISO 27001, SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks.Experience implementing security automation and infrastructure security at scale.Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain one), if future IRAP-related work becomes a requirement.
