Project Developer – Renewable Energy Location: Muscat, Oman Employment Type: Full-time The Opportunity I am working exclusively with a leading renewable energy business that is establishing its presence in Oman following the introduction of new regulations supporting Commercial & Industrial (C&I) renewable energy development. They are now looking to appoint an experienced Project Developer to join their team in Muscat and play a key role in building their renewable energy development pipeline from the ground up. This is a particularly exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial project developer who enjoys working in emerging markets and wants to have a genuine impact on establishing a new operation. A key part of the role will be land identification and aggregation, alongside identifying new C&I renewable energy opportunities and developing relationships with local stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Identify and originate new C&I renewable energy development opportunities across Oman.Identify, assess and aggregate suitable land for renewable energy projects.Build and maintain relationships with landowners, developers, industrial clients, government entities and other key stakeholders.Lead landowner engagement, negotiations and the securing of land rights.Develop and manage a pipeline of potential renewable energy projects.Assess potential sites and opportunities from both a commercial and development perspective.Work closely with technical, commercial, legal and financial teams to progress projects.Support permitting, regulatory and grid connection processes.Monitor the evolving Omani renewable energy market and identify new opportunities.Establish and develop a strong local network to support long-term business growth.Provide regular updates on project pipeline, land opportunities and development progress. About You The ideal candidate will be an experienced renewable energy project developer with strong commercial and stakeholder management skills. We are particularly interested in candidates with: Previous experience in renewable energy project development, ideally solar PV or C&I.Proven experience in land aggregation, land acquisition, land sourcing or land development.Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.Experience taking opportunities from initial identification through the development process.Strong commercial awareness and an entrepreneurial approach.Excellent knowledge of the Omani market and local business environment.Existing relationships with landowners, industrial businesses, government bodies or other relevant stakeholders would be highly advantageous.Experience in land acquisition outside renewable energy, such as real estate, property development or infrastructure, will also be considered.Knowledge of the evolving Omani renewable energy regulatory environment would be beneficial.
