Description
Embedded Firmware Engineer Electronics / Power ElectronicsEstablished Australian engineering and manufacturing business developing industrial electronic products for global markets
This is a hands-on product-development role for someone comfortable moving between:
firmware architecture embedded Clow-level implementationhardware integrationdebugging, test and production support.
You’ll work closely with electronics, power electronics, mechanical, production and quality engineers across the full product lifecycle.
We’re particularly interested in experience across areas such as:
Embedded C / C++Microcontrollers and peripheralsFirmware architecture and system partitioningLow-level driversState machines, scheduling and timing-critical codeDiagnostics, event logging and fault handlingCAN, Modbus, RS-485, Ethernet or similar communicationsBootloaders, firmware updates and configurationHardware / firmware integration and board bring-upOscilloscope, logic analyser and practical lab debuggingIndustrial controllers, motor drives, VFDs, power conversion, protection products or similar embedded hardware
You do not need to tick every box.
What matters is that you have worked on commercial embedded systems and can clearly explain what you personally designed, implemented, tested, debugged and released.
Experience in industrial products is particularly valuable, but engineers from adjacent areas such as EV charging, renewable energy, UPS, power conversion, automotive electronics, instrumentation or other embedded hardware products are also of interest.
The role is permanent and full-time, based in the Wollongong / Illawarra area, so candidates should either be local or genuinely open to relocation.
